Sex Crimes

Kent Starr is a trusted Plano sex crimes attorney

Many attorneys do not have the trial experience to handle a case involving sex crimes, ie. Sexual Assault and/or any type of aggravated sexual assault of a child.  Before you EVER hire any attorney have him/her to show you on each respective counties websites the last felony aggravated sexual assault case for which they have taken before a jury trial.  It irritates me as a trial attorney to be informed by clients that some other attorney was trying to get them to hire there firm when the attorney has never tried a crimes against children case.  Do not be fooled into believing just because someone is a former district attorney or a former police officer or that they have accumulated awards that have nothing to do with trying sexual assault cases in trial.  The counties websites do not lie. Kent W. Starr has tried hundreds of cases from murder, indecency with a child, continuous sexual assault, burglary, robbery, drug possession, DWI 3rd or more, animal cruelty, continuous family assault, fraud, embezzlement , tax fraud, just to name a few.   Contact our firm to discuss your case and to have Kent W. Starr to show you other cases for which he has tried that are similar to yours.

The following cases are just a few of not guilty and/or dismissed cases, as many client’s immediately request that their records be expunged.  However, in the following cases, the clients were so distraught by the judicial system that they have not expunged their cases for it to serve as a sign to other’s that these false allegations can be beaten in trial.

Recent Aggravated Sexual Assault of Child – NOT GUILTY by JURY

On August 24, 2017 a Collin County jury found attorney Kent W. Starr client NOT GUILTY of six (6) counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of Child.  Code of Criminal Procedure Section 22.021(a)(1)(B). (please place a link to this Collin County case: 380-80779-2016). You can look at the case on the Collin County Case Lookup and see that Mr. Starr was not the first attorney in this case, the original attorney told the client to accept 40 years in the penitentiary.  The case had a potential of 25 years in the penitentiary to Life. The State of Texas offered his client 40 years in the penitentiary and yet Kent W. Starr fought for his client and he walked out of court a free man who cried in court and thanked me for trying his case and believing that he was in fact innocent.

Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child Under 14 years of Age – DISMISSED

Kent W. Starr was hired by another client for Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child under the age of 14 years of age (Code of Criminal Procedure 21.02) in Dallas County.  A charge for continuous sexual assault of a child carries a minimum term of imprisonment of 25 years to Life in the penitentiary. There is no early release from jail, ie. NO PAROLE if a person is convicted of continuous sexual assault of a child.  Kent W. Starr’s client plead his innocence from these false allegations; after he was arrested and had to post thousands of dollars in bonds and the stigma of being accused of being a child molester and the possibility of lifelong registration as a registered sex offender. (please place a link to this Dallas County criminal case F-175819).  After hiring Kent W. Starr and his investigators were able to determine that the allegations were false and after an examining trial and presentation before the grand jury, on January 8, 2018 a NO BILL on was issued and our client walked away a free man – free of the allegations of sex offender and the possibility of losing his life.
